Well, first of all you don’t need to report misprints to me. They are unique to individual books and don’t indicate that a whole printing of a book has a problem or anything like that.
Second, you should return the book to the place you bought it and get a different copy. Like you would do with any merchandise that was damaged.
I am always sorry to hear if you got a misprinted book! That said I am not the person to contact about it. I don’t make books, or sell books. You’re dealing with whoever you bought the book from — Amazon, an indie, B&N, Target. This is up to them and their returns policy etc! Authors don’t sell books. Publishers print and sell books. If I bought my own book from say, Target, and wanted to return it I’d have to do the same thing as you — look up the store’s return policy, etc. If for some reason the store won’t take it back, there is genuinely nothing I can do. They wouldn’t take it back from me, either!
